Scentsational Paws Academy (Samantha Teece) - Terms & Conditions

On making a booking with Scentsational Paws Academy or attending a booking you are automatically agreeing to the following Terms & Conditions.
​

ITEMS YOU WILL NEED FOR TRAINING
-
A treat pouch with a variety of high value training treats (for example cheese, cooked chicken, moist treats, JR pate).

Flat collar with ID tag (Strictly no prong collars, e-collars or choke chains),
-
A well fitted harness and a standard fixed length lead, 6ft is ideal (no retractable leads)
-
A dog towel, poo bags, fresh water and a bowl
-
If your dog is toy motivated, please do bring their favourite toy
-
For recall sessions please bring a long line (these are available to borrow)

GENERAL
​
​All training sessions with Scentsational Paws Academy are positive reinforcement training sessions. This means no force or punishment will ever be used to train your dogs. There is strictly a zero tolerance policy of harsh or forceful handling. Anyone found practicing in an undesirable manner will be asked to leave the premises immediately, the training contract terminated and no refunds will be issued.

Scentsational Paws Academy insurance documents are available to view if requested in advance of your booked sessions.
All dogs are to be kept on lead during training sessions unless instructed otherwise for the purpose of a training exercise, all off lead exercises are done so at your own risk
Keep your dogs under control and close to you at all times
You accept that your dog and children/guests are your sole responsibility during training sessions, Scentsational Paws Academy will not accept responsibility of any injury, loss or damage to person, canine or property that occurs whilst attending a training session
In the event that your dog injures a person or a dog, causing damage or injury, you agree as the owner to be responsible for any losses incurred including payment of veterinary fee or any medical treatment required
Use of the car park is at your own risk

Please clean up after your dogs, depending on the venue you might have to take any waste away with you
​
On use of the indoor venue please towel dry your dogs feet inside the doorway during times of wet weather
​
We cannot guarantee a 100% success rate, our training methods have a high success rate with previous clients who follow and practice our methods in the long term. We simply provide you with the tools and professional knowledge you require to achieve results but results will only be achieved if you employ these methods this includes between sessions

HEALTH
​
All dogs attending training sessions must be in good health and fully vaccinated
​
Dogs with fleas are not permitted to attend training sessions
​
Please do not attend sessions within 14 days of any surgery your dog has had, this includes neutering.
Please also do not attend if your dog is unwell, has any contagious illnesses such as kennel cough or sickness & diarrhoea
​
Sorry but no bitches in season are to attend classes
​
Please inform us via the booking form or at the time of booking if your or your dog have any medical issues or allergies. We ask you to also advise on any additional requirements you may have to ensure the learning environment is suitable for you and your dog
PAYMENTS & CANCELLATIONS
Payment is to be received prior to your training sessions
​
Booking via Calendly – payment is made at the time of booking via stripe
Booking directly – Payment can be made via BACs or in cash. Payment must be received a minimum of 48 hours in advance of your booking. Failure to pay puts your place in jeopardy and becomes available for others to book.

5 week puppy course
On booking the puppy course you must be able to commit to all 5 weeks. We cannot discount or issue refunds for weeks you are unable to attend. You will still receive any class handouts for the missed weeks.
Cancellations made with more than 14 days notice of the start date (week 1) of the course will receive a 95% refund, cancellations made with less than 14 days notice but more than 7 days notice of the start date (week 1) will receive a 75% refund. Cancellations made with less than 7 days notice will receive a 50% refund.
Should a class need to be cancelled by the organiser, we will run the missed class on the following week at the normal date/time and a week will be added on to your course. If you cannot make this date then the option to join a future class on that specific week of training will be offered.

Workshops, Events & Competitions (Except Nosework Games)
Any cancellations made with over 7 days notice prior to the event will receive a part refund, a £5 admin/booking fee is retained. Any cancellations with less than 7 days notice are non refundable and cannot be rescheduled to a different date without fee of the event being charged again in full.

Nosework Games
Refunds will not be given once an entry has been accepted
One to One Training
Cancellations made with more than 72 hours notice will be given the options to reschedule (sessions can be rescheduled once only before the session is forfeited) or receive a part refund, a £5 admin/booking fee is retained. Any cancellations with less than 72 hours notice are non refundable and cannot be rescheduled to a different date without fee of the event being charged again in full.

Cancellations made by the organiser
Should a training session need to be cancelled by the organiser due to unforeseen circumstances, such as adverse weather / illness / emergency, every effort will be made to reschedule your session to another mutually convenient time. If this is not possible, we will refund you for the cost of that particular session.
CHILDREN
Children are welcome to attend training sessions. Scentsational Paws Academy accept no responsibility for children at training sessions and it is the responsibility of the supervising adult (over 18 years) to ensure their child’s safety at all times. All children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
In order for all to be kept safe during training sessions there are some rules we politely ask you to adhere to:

Keep quiet when the instructor is talking and stay within your zone unless you are asked to participate in a task

No touching other peoples dogs unless their owner grants permission (this is done so at your own risk)

Don’t pick any dogs up

Do not give treats to anyone else’s dog unless you are given permission from the owner
PHOTOGRAPHS/MARKETING / PRIVACY/GDPR
Photographs may occasionally be taken during training sessions. Photographs may be used for the purpose of marketing. If you do not wish for photographs of you and / or your dog to be used or shared, please let us know via email at the time of booking.
Video & audio recording – No attendees are not permitted to video/audio record any training sessions unless previously discussed with Scentsational Paws Academy (Miss S Teece) directly

All photographic materials remain property of Samantha Teece

Any verbal or written feedback from yourselves (e.g. by phone, email or online reviews) may be used for marketing purposes. If you are not happy for us to use your feedback in this way, please inform us.
